Happy Dog!

How do I make sure my dog is having fun during my photoshoot? Great question! Let’s go over a few tips to make sure your furry friend can have fun and be stylish!

Tip #1: Bring a reward!

Whether your dog loves a good treat or toy we can use that as a reward to make sure your dog is enjoying their time! We will make sure to keep shooting times short and make sure to reward the dog frequently to keep the session fun and engaging.

Tip #2: Give your dog time to adjust!

Everyone can be nervous, and I can understand having a nervous dog, so it is important to make sure we give them adequate time to adjust to their surroundings and me as the photographer! At the beginning of the session, we can take some time to walk around the area with your pet to help them adjust to the environment while I’m around and interacting with them in order to make them feel more comfortable during the session!

If you feel your dog will need more time to adjust, rather than just having a few minutes please reach out to me so we can plan accordingly. (Contact form below)

Tip #3: Know a few commands!

Although this is not necessary for your session it could be helpful if your dog knows a few commands such as sit, lay-down, or to stand in one spot. This will help us be able to capture a static position. If your dog does have a hard time staying still that won’t be a problem, we can still achieve this with a little more work!

Tip #4: Have Fun!

We are all here to have fun and capture memories! We want the session to stay upbeat and engaging so we can ensure the dog is enjoying themselves. For longer sessions, I would advise taking a play or training break to make sure the dog is not getting stressed.
